What is Air Ticketing?
The process of reserving seats in a flight as per the requested travel dates by the passenger and giving a confirmation document to the passenger is called as Air Ticketing.
An airline ticket is a document or electronic record which is stored in the airline data base and is issued by an airline or a travel agency, that confirms that a passenger is entitled to a seat on a flight/aircraft. The airline ticket may be one of two types: a paper ticket, which comprises coupons or vouchers; and an electronic ticket (commonly referred to as an e-ticket).
Now-a-days most of the airlines have transitioned themselves from paper ticket to e-ticket.
What is a Global Distribution System (GDS)?
