First of all, what comes into our mind when we say or hear the word “TOURISM”?
Well, in simple words it basically means going to places that we had planned to visit since long time. Or more precisely, visiting places that are very remarkable or eye-catching. Some of us may get out on tour to relax and freshen up our mind. Meanwhile, some of us may even have passion and love for traveling or visiting new places.
TOURISM can also be made a profession but that’s a different topic. To be honest, there is no perfect definition for “TOURISM”. It’s meaning and purpose differ from person to person. And of course, many of us have already been tourists at some point in our lives too, right?
Well, here’s a quick data on tourism all around the world: According to the survey and article published by “Statista Research Department” in August 21, 2018, “the travel and tourism is one of the world’s largest industries with a global economic contribution of over 7.6 trillion U.S. dollars in 2016. The direct economic impact of the industry, including accommodation, transportation, entertainment and attractions was approximately 2.3 trillion U.S. dollars that year”.
“After all India has almost all types of landforms with different features, such as – high peaks of Himalaya, desert of Rajasthan, plains, plateaus and islands. India is also very rich in marvellous monuments such as the Taj Mahal in Agra which is also one of the Seven Wonders of The World”
Now that is some overwhelming numeric figure, isn’t it? France with 89 million visitors is at the top of the countries that have most foreign visitors in the world, followed by Spain with 83 million visitors and USA with 80 million visitors per year. Now don’t be sad, because our India has also received an overwhelming number of over 10 million foreign tourists in 2017 and the numbers are increasing rapidly since then.
And why not? After all India has almost all types of landforms with different features, such as – high peaks of Himalaya, desert of Rajasthan, plains, plateaus and islands. India is also very rich in marvellous monuments such as the Taj Mahal in Agra which is also one of the Seven Wonders of The World and captivating landscapes such as Yumthang Valley in Sikkim which is also known as The Bowl Of Flowers. And that’s not it, there are over hundreds of places in India itself that might make people forget about rest of the world and just admire the beauty of that particular place. So that makes up about uncountable of places all around the world that is beautiful beyond our imagination.

Those people who constantly tour has experienced beauty that no normal person staying at home 24/7 or people going to job at 10 and coming back home at 4 has ever imagined. Well, if you haven’t been to any of such places then you are seriously missing out some great wonders of this world my friend. Be it a good time with family or a personal escape from stress of daily life, touring is always worth your time.
As I said earlier that the meaning and purpose of TOURISM differs from person to person, I don’t know about you. But for me TOURISM is my personal escape from stressful and harsh reality of life and it’s also more like a hobby than a profession to me.
